SENN uses vyzn for sustainable planning

The new building project ALL is located in Switzerland Innovation Park Basel, on the same site as the HORTUS project that has already been implemented. It comprises a highly flexible office and laboratory building with around 20,500 m² of floor space. Planned by Herzog & de Meuron, the building meets radical sustainability requirements.

Challenges

  • High manual effort required to measure and verify areas from the model.
  • Need to monitor the impact of different materials and components on the life cycle assessment (LCA) during the planning phase.
  • Requirement for an intuitive, standards-compliant software solution to obtain the SNBS certification.

  • 2x 3D/BIM models analyzed (in IFC format) with areas calculated using vyzn’s AI
  • Reduction in emissions through the use of a low-emission concrete formula, created and directly analyzed in vyzn for a new building component
  • Automated calculation of greenhouse gas emissions (GHGE) and Grey Energy, including the integration of photovoltaic systems with European modules
  • Compliance with SNBS standard
  • Efficient and sustainable planning process through early material selection and emission monitoring
