The building sector is one of the largest contributors to CO2 emissions in Switzerland. In addition to heating or energy consumption during a building’s operation, construction activities—whether new builds or renovations—also play a significant role.
To reduce CO2 emissions across the entire lifecycle of a building, the ETH spin-off vyzn has developed a BIM-based software designed to achieve the most sustainable results as early as the planning phase. By leveraging BIM or 3D models on vyzn’s cloud-based platform, precise analyses & simulations can be performed at the push of a button. These models can then be optimized for building sustainability through quick iterations.
"This makes the entire process up to 50 percent faster, as there’s no need for manual measurements or complicated plan submissions," explains Martino Tschudi, co-founder of vyzn.
After just nine months on the market, vyzn already serves over 15 clients from Switzerland. Among them are leading real estate developers such as HRS, the engineering firm Pirmin Jung and the consulting company icccon, part of the Amstein + Walthert Group.
The Zurich-based startup is now focusing on further developing its platform, which will soon include a circularity app and an AI copilot.
